Thanks for coming!
There’s this funny thing that happens at the end of each year. Magazines, TV shows, all sorts of places start talking about setting goals and intentions for the next calendar year. We’ve done the same ourselves. Why? Because the first of a new year looks like a nice clean way to start a new thing.
But here’s the magic part. You can start a new intention, a new thing on any day of the week, any week of a month, any month of the year. There’s no rule that it says it has to be January 1st of any year. Joanna chooses her birthday each year because to be accurate, it’s her “New Year” right?
So as you’re on a bit of a journey with us we’d like you to think about a word, a word that you can use as your north star for the next six months. See, we’re not even going to make you commit to a year.
One that will be your word. A word to describe your intent.
This is an exercise Joanna does annually with all her executive coaching clients. They’ve come up with some amazing words. We thought we’d share a couple with you. Hopefully, they will inspire:
Now, here’s the challenge. We want you to write the word down on a post-it note. Nothing big or fancy. Just write it down. Now post it where you’ll see it every day. We’ve had some people post it on their bathroom mirror (smart right?) and others on their computer.
Each time you see it, we want you to say the word out loud.
If you’re feeling up to it we’d love to learn what your word is. Just text us back.
