Hello hello!

If we were to ask you where you wanted to be five years from now, would you have an answer? Do you have a plan of how you would get there?

No? It’s ok. We don’t have a 5-year plan either. We do however have a 30-year plan. Yes, it’s a little crazy. If you’re ever curious about what it is, just give us a shout. We’re happy to share.

Here’s what’s true about our 30-year plan. While we don’t have the details, we’re trying to do something every single day to nudge us towards that vision. Just a little tiny thing.

Today Joanna shared an idea with an old friend. The idea was centered around the concept that when we were young girls we were taught through fiction that every woman in your life - with the exception of the character's real mother who was usually dead - so stepmother, stepsister, witches, mothers-in-law - were out to get you, sometimes even kill you. They were the competition.

Interesting thought when you think about how there’s still a “Queen Bee” narrative in the workplace. Does it sound familiar? Yes, that short story nudged Joanna towards our 30-year goal.

We step towards that goal by asking questions, by experimenting with ideas, with sharing concepts, with learning new information. Some of these steps may take a couple of hours, some of these steps may just take a moment. It’s taking the step that counts.

One step at a time.

We’re not telling you anything you don’t already know. When you keep working towards a thing, the thing will eventually manifest.

So this week, you get to choose. You get to do one thing. Every day. Just one. And just do that one thing every day this week.

Pay attention to what happens. Pay attention to how you feel. Pay attention to how people react. It’s surprising how far you might go in a week.

Ready, set, go…
